Dr. Seuss unwittingly describes the national debt

March 3, 2013 by History in a Hurry

In memory of Dr. Seuss, Theodor Seuss Geisel, born March 2, 1904, here is a great line from The Cat in the Hat, which comes to mind whenever I think of the national debt:

“And this mess is so big

And so deep and so tall,

We can not pick it up.

There is no way at all!”
